Pair Of Aces

There is a straight pitchers duel goin on right now.

I'm sure you all are aware of this, but I thought I'd point it out.

Chris R. Young vs. Tim Lincecum.

It's halfway through the sixth and the stat lines read like this:

Lincecum: 5 inn, 3 ha, 4 bb, 9 k! This kid is so fun to watch.

If your out of his broadcast zone, then he alone makes the MLB Extra-Inning T.V. package worth the coin. Seriously.

Chris R. Young: 6 inn, 1 ha, 3 bb, 8 k. He will be a Cy-Young candidate before all is said and done this season.

Literally, I had to force myself away from game action in attempt to let all the world know how good of a battle was goin down right now.

Lincecum was left in to throw 121 pitches. I can't wait for the meltdown in the blogosphere over this one.

Hey guys - is Chris Young going to cut down on these K's? Or is he going to be useless to me? I had some high hopes, but he's killing me. I'm crossing my fingers the 7 in the last 2 games can be blamed on the flu.

Are you talking about the hitter?

Yes. Whoops. That was a coincidence - I was just posting into the latest post. Gotta watch that.

I own Lincecum in two leagues. I am very happy.

I watched Lincecum pitch well against my Dodgers. I winced everytime he threw the ball, as if he was reaching into his ass to pull the ball out.

Each time I focused on the delivery, I winced and shouted to the tv screen: "You're gonna throw your arm off, you idiot!"

So, I'm glad I own Lincecum. And, I am GLAD Dish Network does not offer the MLB Extra Innings package.

Everyone freaks out about his delivery but I am just the opposite. I owned him in my league (only one, no poleaguamy here) last year and saw a windup that really distributes the stress throughout his small frame, thus limiting it on his arm.

I was listening to a game he played against the Braves and Don Sutton saw the same thing. Don't fret over his windup or his pitch counts.

test - I know you are in a points league. All I can say about Chris B. Young is that he hits a lot of home runs and strikes out a lot. As far as owning him, better you than me.

Test - Chris R Young will NOT cut down on his K's :)

Kevin - Jared is Jay's brother

Kevin - Lincecum is best compared to both Oswalt and Kazmir. All are smaller pitchers.

Kazmir's lifespan was deemed to be on the shorter side because of his build, the main reason the Mets moved him to Tampa.

Lincecum could likely follow the same path, giving us 3-4 solid seasons, capping it off next year or the year after with a 250K performance before getting a big injury.

He's quite safe for the next few years though with massive upside enough to make him a top 5 pitcher during that span.
