Randy Johnson pitched five innings tonight in his 2008 season debut. He struggled a bit to find the zone, but left the game in line for a win with a stat line of: 5 ip, 3 ha, 4 bb, 3 unearned runs and 7 k's while throwing 90 pitches. Honestly, thats about exactly what we should've expected, especially against the Giants. Randy was reaching 93 mph on the gun tonight and his slider was still there. The length of his outings look to be the concern for fantasy owners this season, but as long as he stays off the DL he is always worth the risk.
By the way, the pen did squander the one run lead that he left with, costing him the win. All in all, this has to be considered a victory for the Unit's owners.
