Give Up On McGowan?

Dustin McGowan, highly recommended on draft day, lowered his ERA to 2.95 tonight.

He tossed 7.1 innings of 4 -hit ball. He walked nobody and struck out 6.

I hope nobody jumped ship because of a rough start.

Expect him to be a solid #3 this year.

I didn't give up on McGowan--I have him in three or four leagues. I clearly invested a lot in him.

I'm very pleased that I have stuck with him--and even more pleased that none of my opponents have even seen it coming.

Unfortunately it is the so/so guys that have me worried--guys like Rich Hill and Justin Verlander. They seemed like great value keepers for me but they've blown up in my face leaving a wake of destruction.

McGowan and Scherzer are going to have to do their share and more!

Scherzer is going to be frustrating to own. Arizona is clearly going to baby him this year. There is already talk about him heading straight back to the bullpen as soon as Davis comes back. He could end up being virtually worthless in my league, a points format. Depressing.
